I am currently 37 weeks pregnant, 70% effaced and 1 cm dialated. When I went to the doctor on Thursday, he told me that my mucous plug was gone, and I was so incredibly hyper yesterday. Most of the time, I have been dragging, and yesterday I cleaned, walked laps, all kinds of stuff. So I thought for sure, today something would happen.
Well...I have been having contractions/ cramps every 9 minutes for 3 hours now, and I feel like there's pressure on my cervix, and almost like it's an unpleasant tingling down there.
Am I wrong to feel upset that more isn't happening? How much longer does it normally take?
Sorry....first baby!

I'm not trying to force her out by any means...I swear. I'm just anxious. Also concerned because she hasn't started to engage yet, but my doc said that some women don't drop until labor starts. Also...my goodness my breasts are killing me. Is that normal????

hi-it could actually take as long as 3 -4 weeks before anything happens--Im 36 weeks and at 2 cm.
I have a friend who was at 2cm for a month before she had the baby.

good luck-this waiting game stinks!!

Please, don't hurry your baby's birth. I know how difficult it is in the final weeks/days. (I have had four children). But it's VERY important for the baby to fully develop. Those last few weeks may make a huge difference in that little baby's ability to cope with being out of the protection of the womb.

Be patient. It will happen when the time is right.

Best of luck to you and your little one.

You're nesting - so you're on your way. It sounds like you may be having early labor. This won't make you feel any better, but I was in early labor for an entire weekend. I hope it happens for you soon!
