photoshop is a graphics program, to design stuff.

quark is a layout program to design layouts.

quark kind of sucks, but not as much as it used to. it's fairly easy to catch onto. you'll just have to play around with it.

but no, you probably won't be able to use quark from knowing how to use photoshop. they are completely different programs with completely different purposes and functions.

Photoshop is an image manipulation program. It's purpose is to take photos and do things like removing backrounds and changing colors or any neat thing you do for special effects.
Quark is a layout program like Pagemaker, Ventura or InDesign. It's purose is to do layout. Making newspapers or brochures. You take the pictures you messed with in Photoshop and put them in a layout with text and other pictures. It has features like wodwrap and frame sizing. Personally I use Corel Ventura, but InDesign is a very good program. Not a big fan of Pagemaker, but had to use it a lot in one of my old jobs.
