I don't even know what kind of details I can add other then this started happening about a couple of months ago... But I have done a ton of downloading of programs and changes to my computer... I am just not sure as to what is causing this. It seems like I have some web page setting wrong... most things work, so it is not like I am tempted to reformat (what a pain that would be at this point)... Please help if you know how to get me past this. Thanks!

The 'stack' is a working area of memory that is dynamically resized at need. In Win9x this problem was fixed in the config.sys file since at that time it wasn't dynamic. It can be resized in xp but it's a bit technical. I really doubt that the problem is stack size. This error in XP usually points to a bad app.

If this problem occurs only when you use your browser, try disabling everything but your firewall, anti-virus and browser. Disable all add-ons for the browser, any download managers and web optimizers. Either one of them has a bug or some are conflicting with others and causing multiple stack queries

If disabling the programs works, try turning them back on one at a time and surfing. Keep in mind that it might not be just one. There may be 2 or more that are in conflict. Look for some that do the same thing.

You might also switch browsers. Firefox is better than IE6 by miles but the sheer amount of ad-ons can cause problems if you get carried away.

"But I have done a ton of downloading of programs and changes to my computer" One of these changes and/or applications is no doubt the culprit. There isn't enough info to really get to the heart of the problem. What sites? What browser do you use? What OS, Windows9x, xp or linux? See what I mean? If the above tips didn't work, go to techsupportforum.com for more detailed help. There are plenty of great tech sites on the web but I've used this one a lot and the mods there are very knowledgeable. It's free, so no sweat there and the answers are usually fast and accurate. It may take a while so please be patient.
Good luck!
