No, not a chance in hell will they win. Dont get to hyped about Matsuzaka in the WBC the best player he pitched against was Jorge Cantu. That says a lot of who he faced in the tourny.

Sadly no. But not for the same reason as the idiotic Yankee fans here.
1. The Sox payroll is steady, while the Yankees payroll is actually going UP, contrary to the belief of Yankee fans.
2. The Redsox will have the entire AL Central to deal with. Forget the Yankees, they are nothing.
3. The only way the Sox will make it to the playoffs is either the AL Central cracks in a hurry, or Steinbrenner loses his magic money wand and loses his 200M+ team.
Basically, The Yankees will have BOUGHT a divisional title again, and the Wildcard will be taken by the central again, likely the Tigers or Twins (the worse of the two).
Both the Tigers and Twins have stars just entering their prime, something we can't say about the Yankees.
However, no way in hell the Yankees are going to win it. No, they suck balls. The only thing they have is "Yay, we beat our rivals with nothing but a quarter-billion dollars down the drain!" They are nothing compared to the Twins or Tigers.
No matter how good the Sox team is, their will power is no match for Steinbrenners credit card. The Yankees will still give them crap for spending only $80m less, same with every year. (Yeah, 07 too, you better believe it Yanks fans, ur payroll has gone UP.)

Yea, absolutely the Red Sox will win the World Series in 2007. With the abundance of great young talent that the Sox have; guys like Cla Meredith, Josh Bard, Andy Marte, Anibal Sánchez, and Hanley Ramírez. Add in steady "in- the-prime-of their-career" players such as Bronson Arroyo and Édgar Rentería. With such talent the Red Sox are sure to waltz through the entire playoffs and World Series in 11 games straight.
OOPS! I forgot. "Gorilla Suit" Epstein"and his puppets in the Front Office traded away ALL of that talent last year!
OH well, there is always 2018.

They will go to the World Series, but a few things have to happen:
1) DH Ortiz has to win a gold glove
2) Curt Schilling has to shut his mouth and not rip any one for the entire season, including A-Rod who he ripped for slapping at the ball, while saying nothing about Orlando Cabrera sliding into second and throwing elbows
3) Manny has to run out at least 2 ground balls this year
4)The next time Varitek starts a fight with A-Rod, he has to be man enough to drop his mask and glove instead of hiding behind his catcher's gear
5)Francona has to take that wad of tobacco out of his mouth
6) Red Sox fans will realize that the Yankees' payroll is going down slowly, while theirs is going up, and they no longer have the right to criticize the Yankees for having a huge payroll

No.
Even IF they somehow managed to get past the NY Yankees (the wild card will more than likely come from tht central again) they will have to beat whomever wins the Central Division.
And that will be very hard to do.
