My Dell laptop use to run both CDs and DVDs. Now it makes grinding noises when it runs and can only read CDs and not DVDS.
Help!

Please take it straight away to the nearest repair shop.

This is a hardware related issue and cannot be attended to by you, simply because you don't have the necessary tools nor know how.

I also have a Dell laptop. My cd rw tension stopped working a on an identical time as back. i might put in cd yet then it would tell me that there became no cd in there and to attempt back. Dell customer service needed $40 to troubleshoot it. i got here across a internet site the place dozens of persons have been having the comparable subject with the comparable cd burner from Dell. I went to Wal-Mart and acquired a clean inner cd rw for $30 and placed it in myself. it works much extra helpful than the different one ever did.
