Because its considered immoral, and wrong, even sick, and sadisitic to show an execution to the public. Don't worry, there was a video taken, and Al Jazerra has said they will show it to the Iraqi people, so they can see he is truly dead. It is to be released within this week. There is no doubt it will come out on the internet.

I don't think it would be a good thing to show Saddam being hung on television. One... why should we watch the death of someone else? Do we really need to? Also, for his Sunni followers, I think that showing the video on TV would just make some of them more violent.

Because it would glorify his death if he could get a last word in telling his followers to continue to rebel...that would work, and the Baaths would continue to fight until doomsday.

Well who is 'they'. From what I understand, it was videotaped but who gets to see that tape or who shows that tape will answer your question.
If 'they' means the USA press, we don't have a history of televising executions.

i think his followers will be upset enough , without showing it. it could cause even more or sooner violence that will surely come about.
