I can plow a field all day long, I can catch catfish from dusk til dawn, I can skin a buck and I can run a trot line because a country boy can survive.....I would be fine
.
The rest of the world would look like the aftermath of hurricane Katrina with idiots stealing plasma TVs and sneakers, robbing shooting and raping if we lost those amenities today. Or it could look like every other natural disaster everywhere else where everyone chips in and helps everyone else...what was the big factor in Katrina that no one acknowledges could it be race? Some people just don't know how to act in a crisis. No crisis for me though..I would be OK
You wanted honest you got it!
The fact of the matter is it was rough back then and people were to busy working to stay alive and doing what needed to be done to miss the luxuries of the 21st century.
You either worked or you didn't eat it was a simple philosophy we have gotten away from.

I lived almost 2 weeks without electricity or running water when we had a nasty ice storm. It was hard but the fact of the matter is with our modern day living we don't normally have the things we need to survive in that way.
However I know I could learn to live that way. I know how to build a fire and cook off it. It wouldn't be the first time I've used the great outdoors as a restroom. Bathing sucks but it's possible. Some things I do to entertain myself have been around forever, such as reading and crafting. I'd miss the internet some but it's not the end of the world and I hardly watch TV so no loss there.
It would be an adjustment but people have a way of adepting to life.

It would be a challenge, but I believe after the shock wore off and reality hit I'd survive. I think a simpler lifestyle would force people to learn to cooperate and be truly social (instead of superficially social). We'd have to get off our butts and work and eat non-processed foods so we'd be healthier. But then there wouldn't be all the medical discoveries that have helped people overcome so many difficulties, so I guess it's kind of a mixed bag isn't it?

I was born 15 years ago. I doubt i'll last but I am part indian so I'm sure I could do it! If I had my family with me.
I'd need to take a few things to. You know a generator a DVD player a television and a few DVDs incase I get bored. Just kidding. =P

If we went back 100 years, I'd be prepared. Life would be a lot more difficult, and I'd struggle at first, but I'd get the hang of it before too long. Any minimalist/survivalist/ultra-light backpacker/hardcore backpacker would agree, I think.

Skills, no problem, but I'd be dead, because modern medicine has saved my life numerous times.

And no birth control! I'd have 10 children, washing all of their clothes by hand, not including my menstrual "rags"......BUT if that was all I ever knew I'm sure I would do just fine.

I grew up poor in an itty bitty redneck town. I'm sure I could do it. I wouldn't like forfeiting all of women's progress though.

I couldn't as I am now. Maybe someone would have pity on me and help me make the transition, but I don't know if i could on my own.

I would also be dead, as my life has been saved by modern medicine such as antibiotics, chemotherapy, hormones etc.
