As long as terrorists pour in from Iran and Syria, keeping the peace there will continue to be a challenge. Technically the Iraq war was over in a couple of weeks. The problems there are due to the constant influx of terrorists.

It's like fighting termites in your house. The more you try to get rid of them, the more they keep pouring in to fight.

We've freed millions there and now they've had several elections and they've executed the mass murderer Saddam, so as a free country for the first time, they're heading in the right direction.

I just wish we could get them to be able to defend themselves. But we shouldn't leave unless we're sure they can keep the peace. Letting Iraq turn back into a terrorist training camp would not be good for the world at all.

no because it wasn't because of Saddam that the war started, he just an important factor in it. This war is gonna go on until Bush has his way and democracy is the leading government over there.

The war will end when the Iraqi government asks us to leave, and once we have a good standing army that's well-trained in place. Not a moment before (just like Bush has been saying all along). It's the Iraqi's show, just like the trial was...

There was not a single American in that courtroom during the trial.

It's their show, not ours...

I have family there, and in Afghanistan. I think the stabilizing forces should stay in place and fight for the righting of the country until some semblance is an actual stable government is running the country.

Not within a week, not within months, who knows, troops can be there for years to come. The execution didn't mean the end, it meant that people are more angry, and there will be double the violence sadly. BRING OUR TROOPS HOMEEEE

The hanging of saddam is going to open up a wound that was struggling to heal, retaliation will begin and it will not be nice. Sorry, i think our boys are going to be there for a while still.
