DO NOT WORRY!
Simple answer:
Before removing your lens, put a drop of "rewetting" solution over your lens and gently massage over the closed eye-lid with finger.. This will make the lens moblie.
Next, hold the edge of your upper lid with tip of your middle -finger-nail (held like 12 O'Clock hand), press towards the white of eye with eye wide open. Hold lower lid with other hand (like 6O'clock hand) and press the edge of lid towards white of eye. Make sure that two lids are open wider than the diameter of your contact lens. Now with maintained pressure towards the white of eye & looking straight in the mirror at your eye, start bringing the lids closer. Your contact lens will easily come out even without touching.

After you have washed & dried your hands, stick your index and middle fingers up as though you are making a V sign, with your fingernails facing away from you.

Look in a mirror & put these two fingers on either side of your contact lens in front of the coloured part of your eye (if the coloured part was a clock, at the 3 & 9 position). Keep your fingers straight and upright so that the nails are not touching your lens.

Put a little pressure onto the lens and close your two fingers together like scissors. The lens will come out between your 2 fingers.

We always use this method with nail extensions & it works very sucessfully without damaging the lenses.

I have had contacts since I was 13. I quit getting my nails done mainly because of this. When I did have nails though, I would take the ball of my finger and roll the contact to the corner and try to kind of wrinkle it a little so I can take my nails and pull it out. Another thing you can do is cut your nails down or get shorter nails next time. It is easier when you have more control. Good luck! I have been there so I know it hurts.

Keep on practicing if you want your long nails. I have a friend who has very long fake nails and she wears contacts. If you don't think you can do it then what other choice do you have? You will have to cut the nails down then sand them smooth. and let the nails grow out slowly till you get used to putting the contacts in and out.

I have heard that some people will use the side of their finger, and hold the contact in place, and then press down on their eyelid to "push" the contact out, but I do NOT know if it truly works, but it's a thought, just in case.
