I was wondering how parents choose the colors and styles of underwear for their sons. Would it be safe to say what one son wears the other would wear the same type of underwear? How is it some parents only buy white underwear and others will get colored briefs , bikinis etc? Any personal experiences?

my son picks out his own, and his style comes out. Some days he likes to go comando, others he likes boxers, and still others he would like briefs. He prefers mostly character print though. It also helps with potty trainging, because who would want to pee on spongebob or spiderman!

When your child is old enough take him to the store and let him pick what he wants to wear. You may want to start with just one pack before you buy a bunch of one particular type and then you find out later that he doesn't like them. My sons love boxer briefs (They are 14 and 8)

When my son was old enough to care (about 5 or 6), I bought a few different types. He ended up liking the brief-boxers (they are knit and tight-fitting boxers). I would say that each kid is different, and it depends on what feels comfortable to him. Personally, I prefer colored underwear, so that's what I buy.

My mother brought underwear for me untill I was about 13. Then when she would buy them, they would be too small in the 'package' area. Eventually, after being uncomfortable for weeks, I went and got some of my own, and since then I have never turned back.

BTW, get him boxer breifs (kinda like a tight fitting short). They are extreemly comfortable, and are better for the reproductive system in later life. They also have alot of stretch, so are rarely too small anywhere except the waist.

depends on the child and their age,if they are just starting to potty train, the underwear with the characters are a great choice,if they are older try letting them chose the ones that they would like to try,you may end up buying several different styles to he finds one he likes.I have one son who only wears boxer briefs, the other son wears regular underwear,he hates boxer briefs.

you mean you got to pick ! My sons had a definate prefrence from the day they got underpants. Buy a pack of brief ,boxers and boxer briefs and let them see what feels good to them. When My now 8 yr old was 2 if he didnt have his scooby doo undies he refuse to wear any at all, to the pointif I put any others on he would strip and take them offand redress without any besides who is gonna see their undies anyway?

I would say that what helped me decide was my sons likes and dislikes. Now that he is older, he wears just plain white briefs, but when he was smaller, he had all kinds of different prints. It was just whatever he was into at the time. I don't know how old your sons are, but maybe you should ask their input on this matter.

What one wears doesn't mean the others will wear. When they first get them buy them something fun (maybe with characters) to encourage them to wear it. When they start to care, take them shopping with you and have them pick out what they like. Buy them a couple different styles and they'll tell you what they find to be the most comfortable.

If they don't come right out and ask boxers or briefs, they probably buy what is most economical and comfortable for their son and go on their own choice of color as to their own "likes" or "dislikes"...

Ask your son what he wants to wear. Like with me, even though most guys wear plaid and other colored boxers, i prefer white boxer shorts and that's mostly what my mom buys me.
