The question has three parts...

Do you think Barack Obama can win the 2008 presidential election? Why or why not?

Also, what steps do you think he needs to take in order to be a successful candidate? (Does he need to come up with a plan to carry out his ideas? Does he need to be stronger on foreign policy?)

Who will be his strongest opponent?

Please no yes or no answers.. back up your opinion.

Probably not. Even people that say they would support a black president wouldn't back that up with a vote. He's the only black man in the Senate, if that gives you any idea of how racial equality is going so far.

I think the idea of a black president would scare 50% of the republicans that don't vote into actually voting in 2008.

Besides, if Hilary Clinton also plans to run, he might not be the Democratic choice anyway.

I think he has a great shot. He just seems so damn real instead of all stuffy and full of crap. I would love to see him and Hilary Clinton go at it just because she is a woman and he is mixed. Neither of which has ever held the Presidency. If it came down to them , I am not sure which way I would go though.

NO, he is too new on the scene. He does not have enough experience or track record to run on.
