Remember, I'm not talking about the past. In the past Christianity has done much more horrible things.

But today, out of all religions - Islam is definitely the most dangerous and deadly.

Islam like many religions has many flavors, and most adherents are like average people everywhere, some are very observant , some barely have the religion beyond cultural ties, few are fanatics, much less dangerously so.

Islamists however are a bizzare cult of Islam that is dangerous and murderous, But many religions have similar cults, and some of those are worse than the Islamist cult.

There are current day Christians (or at least they call themselves that) that would kill to enforce thought crimes that even the Taliban only gave beatings over.

There are more bizzare cults yet that have much power in America, but are every bit as Murderous, just Google Moonies to learn a lot about that

All are ultra right wing totalitarian, and fundamentalist, though even some fundamentalists are not that sort. Also some like NeoCons are not religious at all but pretend and use such cults to advance their own dangerous agenda

What are you trying to do, goad them to greater indignities? Don't you see that the people you are calling murderous feel they are beset, they are under siege, they must fight for their very lives and homelands? I don't necessarily agree with every one of them, but they are not doing this just because of religion. Religious leaders are involved, certainly, and because the dominant religion is Islam, that is what you hear. But the real danger is not about religion, but politics manipulating religious fervor.

The difference is very, very important. It's like saying Christianity was dangerous in the south in the 1950s because the KKK used to burn crosses. Since the cross is a Christian symbol and they claimed to be Christians, obviously all Christians, everywhere, were responsible for their excesses.

It's just not fair to condemn all people who believe in Islam because some who are in a military situation and may not be on your side are using their religion as an excuse in what is essentially a political manipulation.

And in direct answer to your "dangerous" question, no. In terms of numbers, there is no comparison, but "pound for pound," if you will, the most dangerous religion is Satanism. Yes, there really are people who take it seriously, and that's why I am not kidding when I talk about Defense Against the Dark Arts.

Actually, its the radical elements of Islam. The bulk of people in that religion just want to be left alone to do their own thing, and live their lives in peace. And considering what GW Bush has accomplished in the name of freedom and democracy with an underlying tone of Christianity, I'd have to say its a toss-up as to which is the most dangerous. At least the Muslims don't have atomic weapons - yet.

The Islamic religion, like the Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, and Hindu religions, has not changed in 1400 years. There has never been an update to the Qur'an. It is the interpretations that change.

So your question is flawed in identifying 'Islam' as a danger; you should be singling out Islamic leaders. In that context, yes, Islamic leaders are the most dangerous religious leaders in the world today.

Read the book: Kill the Indian; Save the Man. You will discover that the US and Canada were practicing genocide on Native Indian Children until 1990, when the last private, "schooling" institution was closed. The mortality rate at those schools, was higher than the death camps in Germany.

I disagree. Remember, it is not Islam as a whole committing the violence, it is the extremistists. Much like Christianity, Islam is a religion that advocates peace and love, and condemns violence.

In modern times, violence committed on behalf of Christianisty has been just as prevelant as violence committed on behalf of Islam. Christians today have murdered gays, doctors who perform abortions, athestists, have vandalised their homes and businesses, have vandalised Jewish syangogues, etc.

So let's be honest here. Yes, Islam extremetists committed 9/11 and murdered many people. But regular practicting Islams are nothing to fear. Not anymore than your average Christian.

Islam is no more dangerous than Christianity. Mainstream Islam does NOT preach hatred, jihad, or anti-Americanism. A vocal minority of ultra-radical Islamists who have taken the religion and warped it to justify their own sick views is to blame for the murder and violence done "in the name of Allah". Please, don't confuse the radical dipsticks with the majority of peace-loving Muslims who would love nothing more than to live in harmony with the rest of the world, and who call for those radicals to STFU and sit down.
