how about an all inclusive spa vacation? mexico and the dominican republic are all very affordable and they treat you so nice. plus going somewhere out of the country makes it a little "exotic". if you prefer here though there are lots of good affordable places (i'm an all inclusive spa-aholic!) the first place i took my husband was in west virginia, a place called "coolfont". i knew the word spa would translate "foo foo" to him. but the cabins were in the woods, it was small and the people were terrific! the cabins are a little too rustic for my taste but he loved it and there are Jacuzzis in them if you aren't too tired by days end to use them. (but you can do as much or as little as you want). they also have an indoor pool. try searching the major travel sites and also travelzoo. i have bought great deals on skyauction.com although make sure if including airfare you read the fine print regarding extra fees. good luck! lucky mom!

Maybe you can just do an overnight trip. I'm sure they'd appreciate it just as much. Do they have any nice bed and breakfast places near you or by the beach somewhere. Those are awesome and relaxing. I prefer them to hotels some of the time. I would put together a going away package for your mom, meaning everything she'll need while they're gone like bubble bath, a relaxing cd, scented candles, bath slippers, robe, maybe a gift certificate for a nearby restaurant, etc. I know this may sound weird, but you can even get her a beautiful, long flowy night gown. Let her know that even though she's 50 she's still sexy and beautiful. I'm sure she'll love whatever you guys decide. Good luck!

Book her a cruise! They're awesome, and your parents will probably find it super romantic. There are Carnival cruises starting from the low 200's per person. That includes a ton of on-board things. It also depends on where you live, though. I live in LA, and the cheaper cruises are from here to nearby Mexico. AOL has a lot of info on them at keyword cruise. You'll also probably find a lot of good deals at places like expedia, etc. Good luck, you're such a nice daughter for doing that :o)
