I just get mine in the vitamin section at wal mart. I've heard that when you're TTC they're fine to take, but when you actually get pregnant then your doctor will probably give you a prescription for some.

My pharmacist told me that OTC prenatals are okay when ttc. The only difference between the OTC ones and the Rx ones is the amount of follic acid. The Rx have about 600 more mg. I use the Target brand of prenatal vitamins. When I got pregnant, I immediately switched to the Rx. You can also get extra follic acid from foods like spinach and oatmeal.

The OTC ones are merely as good because of the fact the prescribed ones. The OTC ones have all the supplementations which you and toddler want. The prescribed ones in many circumstances have slightly extra supplementations in them. So the two way your good. i'm getting the only an afternoon prenatal supplementations, $13 for a month furnish. I bought some at a local pharmacy and my doctor told me they were the exact same as the presp. kind. I also took two flintstone vitamins while I was pregnant since the prenatals made me sick.

Just make sure they have folic, iron, and calcium.
You can buy over the counter or use women's centrum if needed.
The ones that are prescription aren't that different.
