Any girl who is sexually or romantically interested in you would have to be a lesbian herself. Therefore, it's doubtful that a straight girl would be interested in you except as a friend. I don't blame you for being scared to tell them, but why go through all that emotional trauma? Wouldn't it be simpler for you to seek another lesbian? Whatever warnings you received in the past, probably have a lot of merit. I would pay attention to those warnings and just stick with those who share your desires. It's far less complicated that way, and you'd be doing yourself an injustice and lots of angst by coveting only straight girls as romantic partners. Good luck!

there are pro's and con's. Guys HATE girls who "hint" especially about stuff like that, telling him directly would be best, its like ripping off a band-aid, it may sting for a little while, but in the long run there is a whole lot less pain than slowly peeling it off.

If you notice the way they look when they talk to you. Sometimes there are pauses that are awkward, and then some not so awkward.
If she smiles a lot, and she doesn't seem too bothered about you being interested in her, then she might even be intrigued.

Stay away from straight women, i learned a very hard lesson about straight women this past summer. They're not worth the heartache and pain, they only use you.

Flirt with her and hang out with her...slowly make moves on her like touching her hair, accidently rubbing ur hand against hers, stuff like that. It would look cute and you won't seem to desperate or pushy.
Smile at her, help her out, do cute little things...she'll get attracted to you...especially if ur hott
