It's a known fact that Saddam's secular dictatorship was the only thing keeping AlQ terrorists and Islamic extremists out of Iraq.
Now that there is a power vacuum they've swarmed in and Iraq is now poised to become the next Islamic-led Sharia-law imposed nation on the map. Way to go Shrub! It's almost as if you're following some kind of Left Behind computer game script!

No it won't be a victory for Americans. Do you remember what American government said before they took Saddam out of power? "Once we remove Saddam from power, victory will be ours" Once American government got Saddam in custody, things over in Iraq got worse. When American government put Saddam to death, be prepared for a real down out war. I'm expecting nuclear war. When they put Saddam to death, expect the unexpected because any thing could happen at any time.

No - as the commission reported a few weeks ago - Iraq has now become a haven for terrorists, whereas before it was not...

Saddam was a psychopath - but finding and capturing Osama Bin Laden remains much more important.

And the hanging of Saddam simply produces a Sunni martyr... yet more recruiting material for the terrorists.

It's an empty victory. What is it going to do for the people of Iraq, other than ease their conscience for a few minutes? The sectarian civil war will still rage on for decades, and the thousands of new Osamas our invasion has created will react insanely. Ah well, nobody ever learns..

Yes, but the war will contuinue. And Bobby D, Saddam had EVERYTHING to do with terrorism. Not the 9/11 attacks, but he still was a sponsor of terrorism, whether you want to face it or not.

What does Saddam have to do with terrorism? The answer to your question is NO.

Its the opposite of victory, the Baathists have pledged terrorist attacks against us now.

it depends on what your goal is in the "war on terror"... if you're going after all terrorists everywhere... then yes... it would be a minor victory by killing the man that helped fund Palestinian movements...

but most people's goal is to get the people responsible for 9-11... the reason the war started... so... not really at all..

No - he hated the terror guys and would lop thier heads off if they got too powerful and he felt threatened. Saddam was only for himself and not even his family was safe. He had his daughters husband killed.

Nope, just a continuation.

The good news is, not many Iraquis were in love with Saddam either, so I'm hoping the backlash wil be small.
