I think that Spike Lee was just offered to direct a bibliography on James Brown which should be a movie in the near future.

Of course they will. JB was too huge of an icon and outrageous, not to make a movie about. I think the movie about James Brown will be fare more better than the one of Ray Charles.

No, one was in the works before he died, James Brown was going to be involved.
The same thing happened with Johnny Cash, they started making Walk the Line, then he died.

I don't know to whom you are referring by "they." But, yes, someone will make a movie. Why? Not because he died but because he was very famous and lived an interesting life.

Hopefully not too soon, that would be too disrespectful. I'm still cringing at the idea of Jamie Foxx as Ray Charles.

It was announced that Spike Lee will direct one. Funny how it was announced over a WEEK after he died, that they were going to do one. YES. I'm sure it's Spike taking advantage of his death to cash in.

It's my understanding that one was being planned before he died. Spike Lee is making it.
