on sims 2 for pc how do you make the cheats work?

I know the cheat codes for pc but I cannot make them work. Does anyone know what to do?

I think, i Know your problem's.You can use your cheat By Press
ctrl+Shift+C than the bar go out. You can type your cheat there. If you want money, you can type Kaching, I Hope You enjoy this game
