What is the correct way of using a Western Toilet? Being an Indian we have been using Eastern toilets, and thankfully even the trains and many hotels have them. But when it comes to Comode, how does one use it? There are two flaps or covers on it. Which one should we sit on? Do we cover them both when we use flush? Which one to be lifted after we are done? What about the water splash when we poo?

I mean to say, I have seen people not leaving both the covers lifted after the use. They don't cover when it's over. In my office too, the Housekeeping guys leave both the covers lifted after they have cleaned it. SHOULD WE LEAVE IT COVERED B4 WHEN DONE OR LIFT ONE OF THOSE???... Thanks. About the Splash, I think I got the go. We can drop a couple of Tissues in it before we start. LOL.

Urg. A Western Toilet? lol. You mean the toilets us Americans use? Well first of all, the cover with the hole or the half shaped one is the one you sit on. Or if you're a guy, lift it and do your stuff. And the second cover with no holes you use to cover after you've finished your stuff or if your stuff won't flush down. As for the "poo", I'm not sure you can prevent that splash. lol. haha.

You have to put your *** completely in the water so there is no splash.
