Can anybody advise me a good stock to invest in, i have funds of around $5000 cad. I have heard gold is a good investment and although currently it is low, there is speculation that it is gong to rise high in the forthcoming months, also i have heard uranium is going to soar, any advise or knowledge would be welcomed!!!

You should invest systematically, build a portfolio. Investing in one stock only is a bad idea, diversification diminishes the risk.

With 5000 $ I suggest you buy ETFs only. These are like stocks but track an index. This way you are automatically diversified.

If you think commodities are still hot, invest in a commodity tracker, or mix a stock ETF with a diversified commodity ETF.

Gold is low? Gee, what do I know? (bopping my head)

IAU (ishares gold exchange traded fund) has mirrored the price nicely and while not as high as in April or March, it is higher than parts before that or in June.

However, the price of uranium has soared in the meanwhile. The articles give some names but you might also consider Paladin Resources (PDN:TSX), Laramide Resources (LAM:TSX), and Tournigan Gold Corp (TVC:TSX-V).
