Not yet. If trends continue (depending on who gets elected as the next president), give it another five or ten years. It'll be a very dangerous, very violent, and very bloody civil war.

To Speakeasy: Saddam is not a "leftist tyrant." Sorry, but you need to brush up your political smarts there. He's on the right in terms of economic and social issues, an authoritarian, fascist leader.
I wouldn't say that Bush has driven the USA to the brink. He has a 30% approval rating. When he says he's a uniter, not a divider,he's correct. Only he's uniting people against him, with his intolerable views on the Iraq war and domestic issues.

USA? The whole World! I think of what George Carlin said in one of his comedy routines, "The human race is circling the drain" - never in history has that statement been more on target. Personally, I hope the Mayans had it right. I'm looking forward to December 21, 2012. The way we (human beings) act, we do not deserve to exist here. Perhaps the next design of intelligent beings will get it right. I wish them luck.

He is a man I do not trust and I don't feel he makes us safer. He makes us less safe. More Americans have died in the war than died in the towers. I would be for going after bin Laden but what did Hussein have to do with it?
He has systemattically financially ran this country into the ground. And personally, I don't feel he's all that intelligent.
It's going to take a lot to get us out this mess now. And how does the rest of the world view the USA now? I'm worried about our future because of this man.

Perry my boy, you really need a history lesson. Have you ever heard of a thing called "The Great Depression?" When you are standing in line at a soup kitchen, then you can come on here and talk about the 'brink of destruction' I mean really, get a grip!

We are more polarized than ever, Bush is horrible, he's a joke, and this country is worse off because of him. Now bring on 8 years of Jeb and just finish us off.

I'm 59 years old, one year younger than GWB. I can't understand why the American people thought that GWB would make a effective President. I'm still trying to figure it out. I was astounded!
