Star Trek for sure, I like both but I don't like the way things were done with the three new movies( a long list to be sure but just to name one thing Anakin goes out like a chump) and it cheapins the other 3 movies for me where as Star Trek comes in 5 flavors and if Voyager isn't your cup of tea maybe you'd like The Next Generation. Also Star Wars takes it self a little to seriously whereas Star Trek will from time to time make fun of itself wich makes for excellent comedy. Additionally Episode Four is the only one that can really stand alone as a story but in Star Trek you never need to invest more time than it takes to watch 2 tv episodes to finish the tale, or if you're watching movies they all stand alone well except for 2 and 3.

Another thing, to refute a comment that Star Wars has more action, and it certainly does, but what should have been one of the best action scenes in cinema history, Obi Wan beating Annikan SUCKED, so this man who would be Darth Vader, who is supposed to be the most powerful man alive goes down with one deft move, come on. Then as he lays there proclaiming his hate for Obi Wan nothing happens, but later when he first sports his Darth Vader look you can see his hate destoying his enviroment, but back with Obi Wan, flopping on the ground he and all his Jedi/Sith powers can't manage any kind of telekinetic attack, weak. While we're talking about Obi Wan, how come in the original trilogy he sent Luke to train under his Master Yoda, but when they make new movies his master is Quigon???

So yeah Star Wars is good for some action, but if you want character development, characters with real motivations not just plot device, or pertinent social commentary get some Star Trek. Not to mention they have better ships, heros, villians(they totally ruied Vader) and technology. Mr. Data forever

My favorite is Star Trek. I was a young child in the 60's and avidly watched Star Trek. Back then, Star Trek was something very new and very exciting (especially to us children in elementary school). We all wanted to be Spock because we thought that he was a "cool" alien.
