That depends largely on what you like and what you can afford. I have a page on my website with information about that. http://www.turnkeyproperties.org/resources_details.php?id_art=67382&img_id=0 The biggest factor here is crime. If you plan to live on the Missouri side go to www.kcpd.org and check out the crime maps and the maps located in the homicide report.
Just plan to reside in one of the areas that is not plastered with big red splotches.
If you plan to live in the subburbs check out www.bestplaces.net and check out Lee's Summit, MO. Raytown, MO, Olathe, KS, Overland Park, KS and some of the other areas around here.
In town there are so many variables about crime, income and location that the choices are infinite. Wesport is cool if you want to walk to the clubs and entertainment. Downtown is o.k. if you like steel and concrete. Waldo and Brookside are cool if you like trendy shops, bicycle paths and Irish pubs.
If you need good schools stay out of Kansas City! TheSchools suck! North of the river has a great deal of growth and some nice areas too. The burbs offer the best schools. Trafic is not bad so a commute of 25 miles is no big deal. It just depends on what part of the city you need to get to.
Check out my page at http://www.turnkeyproperties.org if you need a place to rent or are looking to buy.
Weather ain't bad, we get a few minor snows every year and a couple of ice storms. no major extremes though. We do hit 100 or 110 a few days a year too. but it is very humid during the summer.
Job market is pretty good we actually have a pretty low unemployment rate. Basically if you want to work there is probably a job here. go to www.bestplaces.net for a lot more info.

kansas city weather is pretty varied. we have four very different seasons, the winters can be brutally cold, the summers brutally hot, the spring is usually rife with tornadoes and strong thunderstorms, but the fall is my favorite time of year, very nice fall weather from mid september to late november. the job market is better than some places, there are definitely jobs here. housing and cost of living is probably one of the best in the country. we have a great football team, baseball team, excellent museums, colleges, and parks, and the most fountains of any city in america. plus the city is laid out in such a way that there is alot of close easy-to-get to shopping. but the best thing about kansas city though is the people, they are very common sensey, down home and hospitable. it's really a great place to live. just find a place in the suburbs, like Lee's Summit, Blue Springs, Overland Park, North KC, etc., because the inner city is not very nice, as is the case with most cities these days i'm afraid.
