I find it funny that many of the answers to this question seems to be base in American ideology. Yet the very "patriotic" people that have responded to this question would be the first to deny that Bush went into Iraq based on a lie. I wonder if the same responders ever think of how many innocent Iraqis have died due to this lie. Now Saddam was not a perfect man, he was a dictator. Maybe he deserved to be executed. Do you think that the powers that be thought that Muslims would want this to be a part of their celebration? I think they didn't care. Especially with Bush, he likes sending messages. That is why Americans are hated world wide.

From long island situations on line: The Muslim trip of Eid starts off Saturday for Sunnis, and Sunday for Shiites, who now administration the government. Iraqi regulation appeared to show that executions have been forbidden on the trip. yet Mr. Haddad replaced into dismissive of those concerns, injecting a number of the sectarian chop up it is pervading the rustic. “The respected Eid in Iraq is Sunday,” he pronounced. As for Mr. Hussein’s sect, he pronounced, “Saddam isn't Sunni. And he's no longer Shiite. he's no longer Muslim.”

First and foremost I am quite sure that Saddam himself could give a rats butt about killing one of our people if he had the chance, and it where a day that had religious meaning. You see there are a lot of people out there that still don't get it yet. The Islamic extremist want one thing, very simply put, everyone else that does not agree with them DEAD! Everyone is complaining about the job GW has done but yet I don't see that many people really trying to take his job away. You see it is very easy to point out what someone else has done wrong, but a lot harder to do the job better yourself. So even though I may not agree with everything entirely that has transpired over the last several years he is the president of the US and deserves our respect and support. And further more all of the people wining about Saddam's execution need just remember what I said earlier in this message about Islamic extremist. It is most unfortunate that I feel this way but you see given the chance rulers like Saddam would come into this country and quite simply start killing everyone. I know this is hard for some people to comprehend, but it is a fact. Say what you like about the US, after all many men have died in the past to give all of us that right, you know the freedom of speech thing, but if you don't like it here and it is that bad the pack sand and go somewhere else. Perhaps that country will allow you to voice your opinion freely, but then again maybe not. Just remember that we used to pledge allegiance to our flag everyday in school, but someone has found that offensive. We used to be allowed to say prayers in school before sporting events, but again someone found that offensive also. When are the people of this country going to wake up and remember that this is the United States of America, not the United States of Constant Compromise. We spend so much time worrying about how someone new to this country is going to be offended that we wind up offending our own countrymen. If you come to this country I should not have to learn to speak your language to accommodate you. After all would they learn my language to accommodate me if I were to move to their country to live, or would I be expected to learn their language to be able to communicate. This may all sound like old fashioned ideas but it is the God's honest truth. Just think about it............

I think that the fact that they took care to execute him before the Holiday shows that they knew what they had to do to ensure that there were no un-necessary protests. Saddam was a murdering fool, he killed hundreds of thousands of people in horrible ways, and the OP is upset by the fact that the execution might have been a few hours late? Grow Up!

It wasn't religious silly rabbit. It was about being murderous and torterous and an a-hole. Why don't you figure that out. Muslims don't give a crap about christianity. Was it wrong he was killed on the holy day for 7th day adventists? what makes you so special other than you should try to plug your computer up wearing a burka in iraq.

They did it before sunrise, the official start of the day, so it wasn't on Eid.

Disrespectful? Are you kidding me? Wasn't it disrespectful when he had so many people killed? And besides, they are saying on T.V. that the holiday don't start until tomorrow. That's why it was done tonight. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!

if you're Muslim, sure, it was disrespectful. but this is America and he was a terrorist. will you feel this same way when they wipe out Bin Laden? they're trying to keep our country safe, and if that means "murdering" a few torrorists to do so, then I'm all for it. I don't want to live in fear, I'm sure no one in this country wants to. for once, Bush did something right. now, if only he could find Bin Laden...I know. they say he's dead, but it's still in questioning. but no one will rest until this country is made safe again.

GODS BLESS AMERICA
