do movies that have many parts like 1st and 2nd part and the parts after the 1st are worse or better?

Most of the time, the sequels are worse then the first movie. The Harry Potter movies are more of a continuation on the story then sequels

In a series, I usually like the first movie the best.
Except Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings were all books, so I know what to expect and they keep getting better and better.
Ice Age is the only movie I can think of that I liked the second just as much as the first.

I like all the parts. As 1st part was great and fabulous, I liked 1st better than second . i am waiting for the 5th one to come. Where as in Hindi movies it depends on the story. Take into consideration Lagey Raho Munnabhai. It was greater than the first one wasn't it?

your question not exactly very clear, but i'm assuming that it's refering to sequels of movies.

it all depends from movie to movie. the Pirates (Black Pearl) was not as good as the Pirates (Dead Man's Chest). In the old "Omen" trilogy the first one was the best and the other two were lame. In the "Godfather" trilogy to, only the first was worth watching.

Closer home, "Krrish" did not have the charm of "Koi Mil Gaya". But look both "Dhoom" and "Dhoom 2" were awsome. Even "Munnabhai MBBS" and "Lage Raho Munnabhai" were equally good.

Maybe it all depends on the change's, if any, on the star cast or maybe a different director brings a better or worse effect on the whole sequel.

It varies a lot.
The sequels to "Jaws" were terrible.
"The Godfather II" was better than the first film.
Of the many multi-part stories on film, here are my votes:

I like "The Empire Strikes Back" better than "Star Wars"
My favorite Harry Potter film is "Prisoner of Azkaban"
I like both "The Two Towers" and "Return of the King" better than "Fellowship of the Ring" but if I really have to choose, I probably like the 2nd film best.
"Superman II" is the best.
The "Spider Man" films are pretty equal, in my opinion.
I like the second "X-Men" film best.
I didn't see any of the "American Pie" films, so no opinion there! (Actually, I don't go in for many multi-part comedies. I never saw the second "Bridget Jones" movie, and I never saw the second "Austin Powers" film, either.) I did see "Shrek II" and I don't think it was as good as the first one. I probably will wait to see the third one on Netflix.

The first movies are always good - otherwise they wouldn't make the sequels. I normally don't care for the sequels as much, especially when they leave you hanging til the next one - like they did with the 2nd Pirates of the Caribbean. Very frustrating.

i think you mean like sequels, when it come to books made into movies the movies are good as long as the stick to the book (i e Harry potter)
but when regular movies have sequels they are more likely to suck, there is the rare occasion that is doesn't though
for some reasons the filmmakers don't know how to quit while they're ahead
