We're considering Elizabeth for our baby, but aren't sure if we should call her Elizabeth or give her a nickname. There's a lot of Anna, Ella, Abby, Emma, etc around here, so Elle and Ella are out.

My name IS Elizabeth.
Do Not give your child a nickname for this name. Mine did (and it's NOT listed here) and I hate it!
I love the name Elizabeth, but since I've been known by my nickname all my life, it's been almost impossible for me to get people to start calling me Elizabeth.
Elizabeth is a beautiful name, don't ruin it by giving your daughter a nickname.

Well being's that my name is Elizabeth and I go by Liz, Libby and Beth not to mention the fact that my mom calls me lizard to always get my attention, usually results with a dirty look at her !! I personally love my name but so long to write.

Well, there are the obvious, "Beth" or "Eliza" nicknames, and then "Libby" and "Liza" and "Liz" ect. (There are tons). But I have to say, my favorites are probably:
Lizzie (or Lizy)
Liz
Lily
I know they're mostly the same-ish, but there's only so much you can do... Lily is pretty I think.

when you see her and use her name everyday you will find a fitting nick name for her.I have 2 sons,1 is called crash(his name is ZAC),the other is called Harvey(his name is KEVIN)and I have 1 daughter,we call her pumpkin(Her real name is Faith Elizabeth),my children all like their nicknames,so this is what we use,unless they are in trouble then we use their real names and they know we mean business

I really love Liz & Lizzie. My friends daughter is Elizabeth & the call her Bet short for Betty another nick name for Elizabeth. I personally think what ever you will call your child you should name them that...so if you are naming a chilld Anthony (for example) to call them Tony ....just name them Tony!!!!!
