Take a look at the SAG (screen Actors Guild) web site.
It isn't an easy task, and you really need to seek out someone who knows what they are doing to guide you.
You need to get pictures of yourself, one full length and one close up face shot, then write a wonderful cover letter on why you feel you would be a good fit for their agency and why they should represent you.
Send them out to every SAG franchised agent in your area, then hope for an interview.
Be persistent. If you don't get called the first time around, send follow up letters about 6 weeks later.
A reference from a boss or teacher (depending on your age) might help as well.
You'll need an entertainment work permit if you are under 18 years old.
Also, It would help to have a monologue prepared. It should be about 1-2 minutes long and be semi-funny, light, not heavy or sad, and age appropriate.
Once you get an agent, be prepared to fork over $$$ for good quality pictures. A lot of people don't realize how much money it takes to get started!

You have to find out what the procedure is in the Miami area. Some agents want you to mail them a flyer or postcard when you are appearing in a play, so they can come and see your work.
