Yes I think that the death penalty is going too easy on them. The punishment should fit the crime. I think there should be a "torture penalty" for sadists who torture children, animals & women. The man should be castrated, assaulted & ritualistically tortured so that he will be haunted for life, like the innocent child that he assaulted. He should definitely never have access to a child again. Should never be set free. Yet we shouldn't have to pay to keep the a-hole alive in prison...so maybe he should be put to death but it should be a slow & painful death..."And if your hand causes you to sin, cut it off..." So maybe the man should be castrated and have his hands removed & his eyes cut out & his tongue. This way he probably can't get into too much trouble...but then who's going to care for him? Maybe just leave him to rot somewhere or feed him to the vultures...that island you mentionied might be a good idea. Just make sure it's surrounded by shark-infested waters so none of the buggers can escape...
I'm not mean but I'm vengeful. Cruelty to someone vulnerable is, to me, the most unforgiveable of sins. No one is more innocent than a child. Anyone that can harm a child in this way deserves to suffer accordingly.

I feel the justice system has several major problems: juries and judges are error-prone and biased by money. Look at OJ Simpson for example. So if you have a rich pedophile they will be prone to get off and the poor pedophile will get the death penalty. It's not a fair system. African-Americans tend to get convicted more than white defendants for example, also unfair. The other problem is the innocent poor gets the death penalty and the rich guilty can get off. Another problem with the death penalty is that when you discover an error, you can release a person from jail, if the person is already put to death, what can you do, bring him back from the dead? Can't do it.
I do think they should put pedophiles in jail for life. Esp. if they have been convicted twice. They've had their chances for reform and I think they don't deserve to live in society at that point. And esp. it seems the pedophiles that do it several times start advancing to murder too after a few crimes to avoid jail so I say stop them before they do even worse. I believe that is the worst crime for recidivism, and they generally do not reform, so that is how I feel anyway. I feel like they waste way too much space on non-violent offenders (possession of pot or abused wives get them out of there and put in the pedophiles!) And I know that pedophiles are the most hated criminals in jail so it is miserable for them in jail as well.

The death penalty is a sure fire way to prevent re-offending by any criminal.
I have yet to hear of a murderer killing anyone after they have died.
Molestation does not alway involve the penis. So the death penalty would work quite well to ensure they can never hurt anyone again. Sure it will not help the victims deal with what was done, but they can take some solace in knowing that it will never happen again to them or anyone else.

The death penalty is ONLY applicable in cases where someone has died, and really not even then. Once a person has served out the sentece for their crime then that's it. Case closed. I mean they dont make murderers register, or prevent them from living anywhere near those that resemble their victims. I say that if their presence is a problem, use the three stikes legislation for what it was intended and after thier third offence, they get life just like every other felon. No special treatment, no unusual measures after release, just plain simple legal procedure like for every other crime. There is nothing different or special about them or what they do but as long as we keep giving them the extra attention, that is how long they will continue to take steps to draw it.

I'm usually for the death penalty but their are SO many child molesters that it would be impossible to accomplish. I say that first time offenders should be locked up until they rot. If you hurt a child, you lose the privilege to live the rest of your life like a normal human being. No second chances and no rehabilitation because it just doesn't work.

No I think we should be able to beat them within an inch of their life and let them go to prison and they will finish the job there for real. Or beat them turn them loose and put the spotlight on them where ever they go, like the guy who was serving 20 years at San Quentin, and he got an early parole, and when he got out the news media was there at the doorstep with cameras to air live where he was renting a room and the owners of the rental said no and he went from town to town in California till a vigilante group came to beat him to death and he was scared right back to live out his prison sentence at San Quentin because he could not leave the state and no one would help him. So the best place was in prison. If they kill a child they should immediately be put to death yes, but sexual abuse they should suffer in life to live through it everyday, and be tortured with the past forever.

pedophilia is a relatively new societal perception, only late in teh 19th century did we even start thinking of chilrden as little people, before then they were really considered nothing more then a burden until they became useful ins oem sense and then they were owned liek property as women were. withthat in mind i would ask will societal perceptions change again about this or will it not, many things we do in our society are wrong but thye are deemed wrong or right based on perceptions, was it right to hang saddam hussein? soem would say yes and soem would say no. pedophillia is considered by soem to be a disease, thought htey have not isolated the cause. if they do and it is determined that it is caused by a chemicl imbalance or a genetic defect or soem faulty synapse functions, then do they deserve to be executed or castrated since this would eb beyond thier control. epileptics were once thought possessed by demons when they had seizures and soem scholars believe this was the cause of many of the witchcraft claims in europe and america. we as a society judge based on our present knowledge or understanding of a situation

how a lot of human beings gets wrongly sent to detention center each 3 hundred and sixty 5 days? Do you particularly wan't to deliver human beings to dying whilst we will not even deliver the suitable human beings to detention center? What occurs whilst the incorrect person gets performed and the particularly rapist walks in to the police station day after at present asserting "i've got stumbled on God and that i think I would desire to confess to this rape of a minor... you already know the single you killed the different guy for." and then provides the information that he did do it... What can we are saying to the family members of the guy who replaced into wrongfully sentenced to dying? "Ooops, gee the place sorry we killed you husband and dragged you're family members call trough the airborne dirt and airborne dirt and dust yet right here is a few funds to make all of it extra constructive."???

No!! They should be castrated & be left in jail for life but that will never happen because we don't have enough jails for all the criminals now so they say jail is not for punishment ( like it should be ) they say its to make them cured ( which is rot) because you can't cure pedophiles
edit
jen has a good idea
