I'm trying to be good and stay away from the fast food and all....but I am realllllly craving a burger or something! It's hard to stay on this healthy diet without going broke! What fast food places should I stay away from and which ones will be good enough to eat? I am 6 weeks and I know the first 3 months are the most critical....or am I worrying over nothing since I have been eating soooo good so far....is one night of fast food gonna hurt?

I ate McDonalds all the time!! Almost every day and sometimes twice a day. I craved quarter pounders. Your pregnant, it's ok to eat fast food, junk food, etc. Just don't over do it. Don't worry too much about what you're eating, enjoy your pregnancy!! It's a good time to be selfish because once the baby is born, you're not going to have a lot of time to be selfish for some time. I only gained about 23lbs during pregnancy and gave birth to a very healthy 8lb 8oz boy 2 days before my due date.

One night of fast food will not hurt, no. Eat what you can right now, because if you get the "morning sickness", you'll end up being very limited in what you can eat...looking at and smelling many foods will make you ill. You'll learn that sometimes you can't fight the craving, so the best thing to do is either indulge, or find a good substitute for it. Don't worry about heartburn yet, because at 6 weeks, it's pretty much nonexistent. Just remember, indulge if you must, but always in moderation. Don't overdo it.

Also do yourself a favor. When you go to the doctor, get an explicit list of what medications you can take, because asking online is NOT a good way to find out.

It's better to go ahead and indulge a little bit every once in a while than to hold off and really splurge later on.

One night every few weeks certainly isn't going to hurt you all that much. If you're still feeling concerned or guilty, try to order a small, kid-sized cheeseburger.

The main thing is to not give completely in to the craving and have a hamburger (or milkshake) every day.

hunnie give in to that craving...if you dont it will drive you nuts until you get what you want. Eating fast food once in a while is perfectly safe for your baby, just dont go eating it all day for every meal. I'm 12 weeks and what the belly wants it gets. I dont make myself suffer over food. There are enough things I've had to give up since being preggie..ie alcohol and tylenol.
Enjoy that burger!!

Go ahead, but watch out for those hydrogenated oils!! I would think eating out is more expensive than eating healthy at home, but you make the call. Just remember, you can always make some really good hamburgers at home, and they'll still be more healthy than the stuff at McDonald's.

Fast food every one in a while is fine. I craved 7 layer burritos (nix the rice) when I was in my 1st trimester. One night won't hurt. Go with you cravings!!!

eat the burger! eat the ice cream, eat the pickles, eat the whatever. This is something you should experience and not worry about so much. Make sure you get all of your vitamins and you are good.

Go for it. Just make sure you have whatever you are supposed to take for heartburn close at hand because all that grease in the Big Mac will fix you right up.
