Is there a technical term for when an orchestra tunes up before a concert?

This sound is mostly dominated by strings, and is played for a few seconds before the conductor arrives on stage. If you have heard a PS3 start up, it is that startup sound I am talking about.

Its called "tuning".

Well, in school band we would call it 'warming up'.
