I have had previous pregnancies but this time my morning sickness is all day and night. I can barely eat a thing, I am so very exhausted that I could basically sleep all day and night. I am 7 weeks pregnant and with my other pregnancies I have not nearly been this sick. It is very hard to hide the fact that I'm pregnant because I am so sick and I still don't want to tell people until the first trimester is over because I have miscarried before. Why am I so sick? Anyone have any answers or similar experiences?Thank you in advance.

I felt that way with my first son, I kept ginger ale and saltine crackers in my nightstand all the time, and I also took my prenatal at night ( cause that made me more nauses)
I dunno when I misscarried 2 years ago I felt like I wasn't even pregnant, and I guess that should have been a sign for me and I know everyone is diffrent but they say the more stronger the hormones they more you get sick the better off the baby ... i know i know old wives tales Gosh I waited till I was about 6 months to tell anyone I pregnant ..me, paranoid much ??
So when I got pregnant this time I was so sick for a month I thought I was going to die, I didn't even think I was pregnant i thoght I had a disease..lol so when I took the test it all made sence ...
and I would just tell people you have the flu for a little while

Yes....everything that your saying I went through! Identical. It's not fun at all I know. I was around 7 weeks when it was all hitting me too, I felt like I had the flu! lol. It's perfectly normal it's just a bummer to feel so tired and sick all the time. I'm 9 weeks and it's started to be ALOT better :o) I'm not as tired anymore, still a little but not as dramatic as before. What I did to help myself put down food for the baby when I was so sick was "easy food" like yogurt, soup, cracker and 7up/Sprite always help, ice cream. I'd stay away from greasy food until your stomach eases a little. Good luck and if ya have anymore Q's I'm here!

Oh yes! Keep the bottled water & saltine crackers close! With my second, I was sick... if you can even call it that, I felt like I was dying!!!
It's easy to say that every pregnancy is different, and I'm sure that won't ease your concern at all (I'm frankly sick of hearing it myself) but it also has a lot to do with the season- during the winter months we eat a bit heavier (especially with the holidays) - During the summer we can find fruits and veggies a fun treat and during the winter it's turkey dinners, hot coco, and egg nog... I think that adds to the morning sickness. Since it's the holidays, you might just save your secret for some time with saying you ate out and it didn't agree with you!! :)

Every pregnancy is different. I say that age plays a part, too. I'm pg with my 3rd, and it's been 5 years since my last pregnancy. My morning sickness was worse to start and here I am at 20 weeks, still battling it, although it has let up some. Look at it this way...my dr told me that being sick is good...it means it's a healthy pregnancy. Try keeping saltines with you at all times. Hang in there...it will let up. But try to eat something and I hear that those preggo pops (available at Motherhood) help, too.

GOOD LUCK!!

Hi I am a paramedic.
Yes this is normal, could be for a few reasons.
First I am assuming you are older now than you where with your other pregnancies that can add allot to nausea, second if all of your children are all the same sex for example you have all girls maybe you are carrying a boy or visa versa and it is natural for your body to react differently.
Last of all if the father is different than the father of the previous children you body will also react differently, ( Not intending to insult you in any way)

Hope this helps,

My first pregnancy I was sick for my whole pregnancy for no apparent reason. I was tired so much I thought I was going to sleep forever. My second pregnancy I was only sick if I drank OJ. I still can't drink OJ and she is 10 almost. But I never felt better. I was never sleepy or tired. Just felt healthy as could be.

A good natural remedy for nausea is ginger - try ginger biscuits or ginger ale is u are having trouble keeping decent sized meals down, otherwise put ginger in as many meals as possible, also drink plenty of water because dehydration only makes the nausea worse. You should also take pregnancy multivitamins to keep your energy levels up and prevent further illness from lack of nutrition (which will happen if you can't keep your food down)

I had that same problem when I was pregnant. I couldn't eat anything for a few days. I went to the doctor and she was able to give me a tablet to help with my morning sickness.
