you can only get to the point of the ISP who owns that IP.

Then you'd need to subpoena that ISP in order to get any more information.

Ten points to her. You could go buy yourself a ten thousand dollar network analyzer and trace the ip, if it's a good enough analyzer, it will give you the rough distance of the person from you, but that really only gives a smaller circle within which you can search.

And that ip site the guy gave is pretty nifty, but like she said, it only gives the location of the ISP, I live out in vail, and it gave my location as central tucson, roughly about 60 miles from where I live.
