Today is my birthday. My husband was pouting a few days ago because my brother sent a camcorder I wanted. My husband said I should have waited because he was going to get me one. So for my birthday all I wanted to do was go out for a movie or dinner, something! Instead he mentioned playing pool then said it was just a thought. We didn't go anywhere and we're not speaking to each other. I didn't act this way on his birthday, I pampered the hell out of him and included his children (my stepdaughters). Is he insensitive or should I just let it go as my birthday not being an important day for him?

Happy Birthday!! Birthdays are Special!! Your husband is not treating you right, by not recognizing it and making it feel special to you! He's not insensitive....he just doesn't care! Sorry, but it's the truth.

Happy belated birthday! It seems to me that your husband is a bit petty. If I were you, I would just tell him the truth, emphasising the fact that you did not expect to receive the camcorder from your brother. You could follow up by suggesting that your husband get another present that you would like to have, such as a bracelet from Tiffany's. Things could have gotten better then. Do not indulge in negative thoughts, which will just make you feel depressed. I firmly believe that truthful communication is of the utmost importance in order to have a good and reliable relationship. Think positive and be happy always!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I think you are right on to just let it go as your birthday is not an important day for him. Once upon a time, I didn't know any better either... It's probably not worth creating more conflict.

You should still celebrate though, with or without him. Maybe he'll take the hint?!

It's not your fault your brother bought it first. Tell your husband to grow up. Now he's throwing a tantrum like a baby. That is wrong!!!! It's still your birthday. He should be relieved he saved himself some money. I say stay mad!!!! He is wrong, not you. Don't let him get away with acting so childish. You only have 1 bday every year. Next occasion, don't buy him anything. See how he feels.

No. Don't let it go. Decide what movie you want to go to or whatever it is that you want to do and go grab your husband and go. He's pouting. We are all too old for these baby games. Grab him and go enjoy yourself. He can either tell you what his problem is so that you can fix it or snap out of it and be a nice husband. Happy Birthday! Have fun!

Well what a Baby he is.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY...call up a friend and go out with them, if he pouts about it tell him he had his chance.
I know alot of guys find buying things for their wives a tricky thing but the mood... that is cruel and you should not do anything for his next birthday! Maybe go out with a friend that day too!
Go treat yourself to something for yourself, you deserve it.

He's a HUGE BABY! I am talking HUGE with a capitol H.
You should not feel bad for his actions. He is pouting. It was your Birthday did he not REALIZE THAT???? NOT HIS YOUR'S
I think his mama spoiled him a little to much! Did he also want to blow out the candles on your cake and open your gifts?

Men are not emotional creatures. Don't try to make him one. You married him because he is masculine. Just because you did something one way does not mean he can read your mind and know that is what you want. That is how women work. I'd say next time let him know what you expect and don't expect him to read your mind, and try to make the best of any situation.

I would go out with some friends and not let the crab ruin my b-day. He is acting incredibly selfish and childish. Happy b-day.
