You wouldn't have to worry about it, you could never drill that deep.

not long. I think you would die of insanity. heres why the undertaking is so huge. I mean you would need a lot of gas to power this drill and once to get really deep that fuel line would have to be really long. then what happens when your drill overheats? Or when your drill bit hits something hard and shatters? Or wouldn't water infiltrate this hole once you get deep? All of these things would cause you to lose your mind and you would probably throw yourself down the hole plummeting as far as you drilled which you would land in water in which you would probably drown because you would get tired from treading water and since there is no fish you would be screwed so you would die of either starvation or drowning.

Take the money you'd invest in developing the drilling technology -- and use it instead on some good-quality anti-depressants.

Also, see a good counselor for a few sessions and address those issues (we all have 'em). Then, invest most of the rest of the cash in T-bills, remembering to set some aside for a well-deserved "I ain't gonna croak at the center of the earth" party.

You would be dead before you reached the upper mantle let alone the core. The deepest diamond mines in South Africa are a mere pin prick on the earth's surface but working conditions are barely tolerable at times because of the heat.

You would die instantly, but it would take you a long time to drill to the center of the earth. It would be cost prohibitive too. There are cheaper and faster ways to die.

Figure out how to drill the hole first... then don't bother dying. Patent your approach for doing it and watch as the mining companies start paying you big bucks...

You would probably die before arriving to the center, it would take such a long time to get there.

The high pressure would probably kill you before the heat

I wonder what the air pressure would be 4,000 miles down?
