I have a Compaq Evo N410c, and sometimes the touch pad for the mouse allows me to tap on it to simulate clicking instead of using the 2 buttons below it works, and sometimes it doesn't. It seems to work and not work randomly and not in any pattern. I've looked into the control panel mouse settings, but nothing seems to be there. I'm running Windows XP Pro SP2. Any suggestions?

Its HPs website, they have a touch pad driver utility. It should have what youre looking for.

nicely, you mustn't want the laptop on in any respect. while you're shown as related with the aid of WiFi. attempt connecting directly to the router with the aid of a cable and spot what happens. yet another subject to attempt is checking your community setup - make useful it relatively is desperate to homestead community LAN) and that DHCP is switched on desire this helps

try downloading driver updates for your machine and touchpad.

also, adjust the sensitivity of the touch pad, and try to clean the pad. Also, your fingers should be semi-clean!

I would assume this is a synaptic touch pad, try their website to download a universal driver for your machine.
