I fight them! Nothing pisses me off more than being ignored so I will either leave or just hit them until they get angry and yell. It works, try it.

Best defense against the "Silent Treatment" is to look cheerful and go about your daily business and pretend like you don't notice that she's not talking and acting grumpy. A woman gives the "Silent Treatment" expecting the man to grovel. Don't give in. Eventually, she'll get frustrated and wonder why you're not reacting. Don't be the first to blink. My standard answer is always, "If you don't say anything to me, I assume I didn't do anything wrong. I figured you were having a bad day, so I gave you some space."

The only person to ever give me the silent treatment was my dad. The guy would literally ignore me for weeks over the stupidest ****. I'm now in my 30s and it has been over a year since we've spoken. I'm certain that this time is it. We'll never speak again. But I'm over it and fine with it. I don't need him.

I would never give someone the silent treatment. I'm not one to play games. If I'm unhappy about something then you'll know it because I'll tell you and try to resolve it. My husband is my best friend. I never just suddenly stop talking to him an assume he should know why. We rarely fight anyway but if I'm unhappy he knows why. Like I said, I don't play games. I grew up with that crap and I'm not about to carry it into my other relationships.

Let her read this: "Hello dear, I'm a woman. I know that men can be quite ignorant. Lots of times they don't do that on purpose. They can not read your mind. If you are upset about something you have to s-p-e-l-l that out to him. If it's something he's done again and again, you have to make VERY clear to him that it's a REALLY important issue to you. Most of the time men do NOT have the intention of hurting your feelings, they just don't see things the way most women do. Don't try to kill him with your silence, explain the problem, write it down, send him a text message, write it in the sky with a plane, MAKE CLEAR why it is important to you. If he's a nice guy he'll try to be considerate. Silence kills your relationship, believe me, I've been there.

With me, the "Silent Treatment" translates into "Back off until I have myself under control." I'm quiet to keep him from talking to me, because I would snap at him, which would just make matters worse. It depends on whether or not it really was soemthing you should have known about, or if she was just in a bad mood. We women are moody creatures...handle with care.

I' am fine with it because I can handle long period of silence, but I prefer to just argue, fight, yell, makeup and get over it. But the silent treatment is childish I would rather talk to the person.

My method is pretend as if she isn't giving me the treatment. When you talk to her, and she doesn't answer, immediately answer your own question and/or just continue rambling. They'll eventually get annoyed and give up. Hope this helps. ;)

Comical faces and raspberries. But I sure wouldn't suggest that with your partner. Make nice. Sincerely. When she is ready to talk... trust me... you may wish it were silent still. Best Wishes...
