If you are 57, you are well overdue for a mammogram. Typically, you should get you first mammogram at the age of 40. And since you are over 50, you should visit your doctor/radiologist once a year. Reason is, mammograms detect any abnormalities in your breast. It is also important to do self-examinations as well. And for some extra advice, when you do schedule your mammogram don't wear any deodarant under your arms because they will appear as calcium spots.

Yes your doctor needs to prescribe it for you. By the way who told you that you no longer needed pap smears? I'd talk to a doctor about that and if it was yours that said that talk to another doctor. Better to be safe.

No. Your family doctor or internist can prescribe it. Stay well!
