I was gonna get a kawasaki brute force 650 for my son and i dont know if its to much power for him, he is safe on it and not crazy, (he knows how to ride). is it good for hunting or muddin', do i need to get new tires for just normal riding on the trail. or any other mods to it. it has a lot of features but a lot of recalls, so i've heard. it might be too loud for hunting or i dont know if the belt drive is good for 4 wheelers?

long time ago the 650 wasnt anything..now adays, a 650 is too much for an adult..trust me..i would hate to see anythign happen to him..650 is way to much..even a 400 has allot of torque / power...try a 300 or 400..but dont go higher..for his own safety!!!
Belt drives are the way to go..just like harleys !!!..good luck !!

650 is a little much for a 13yr old. The belt driven atv will get wet and slip.Folks like them but they do indeed slip when they get wet.The belt drive gives you the advantage of going over steep slopes without having to use the brakes as much. The only downfall about belt drive is slippage

this is a very purpose built machine its a work horse now if your kids hoss enough to throw this pig around ok but you might consider a little lighter bike displacement is not as big a concerne as is what will you be using the bike for hauling hay and spraying fence line go for the 650 riding trails and hunting you can go lighter .

YES YES YES He won't live to have a second bike. It's way to much bike. He needs something like a 250 or 300. Even the pros's don't ride 650's . They are to heavy to big and to powerful.

Well.........I always just ask myself ..............self I say , How fast are those Deer running and what am I gonna do Bulldog them or try to shoot one?
How much duz your son weigh? duz he need that much power to carry his "FAT BUTT" around? I have never seen a 250cc Quad that couldn't carry my 220# 6'2" body anywhere I wanted to go. It still has enough power to stand on it's tail if I dump the clutch and can flip with the best of them if your going up a really steep hill climb. It has never failed to go where I ask it.
and personally I don't like belt drives for Four Wheeling. You snap one out in the middle of B.F. Nowhere and your done for!
With a Chain drive You Just carry a couple of links with you in a pouch with a couple of tools(if your smart) and your up riding in no time.
