a friend of mine has just informed me that the guy one of my best mates had a major crush on is about to pop the question to his current girlfriend....my best mate realised about a month ago that shes in love with this guy still, even though he didnt want her....she'll be heartbroken when she finds out....how can i be a good mate and help her through this?

Be honest and remind her that she was not suited to him.
She was too good for him and she should find someone else who really deserves her.
Tell her you will take her out for a girly night out and just have a good time. There is no point crying over someone who doesn't want you.

Just be there when she wants to talk and she will probably say the same things over and over,just listen until she gets over him and try and get her out and about doing different things

say something like, "i heard he's pretty serious w/ that girl". ease her into it before the bomb drops. try to hook her up w/ someone else.
