i'm tired of going to fast food restaurants and the only options they have for vegetarians are salads and soups. do you all have any suggestions as to what quick meals you would like to see at fast-food restaurants? also, do you feel that people are turned off by the term "vegetarian" or would the public be more accepting of the term "healthy"?

I am a vegetarian, and I don't eat at fast food restaurants but on the rare occasion that I do, I can usually find fruit of some kind. I eat dairy, so I would like to see more things like string cheese, cottage cheese cups, yogurt, eggs, etc. I like to eat veggies beyond boring lettuce and spinach. Jason's Deli is a great place for me to eat because of the extensive salad bar options. I also eat fish, so I'd like to see more things with salmon in it, versus chicken or beef. I would also like to see more whole grain items on the menu, and not just things like wheat, but also other types of grain.

I do not think folks would be turned off by "vegetarian". I think vegetarianism is growing in popularity. "Healthy" is already used a lot on restaurant menus. My eyes tend to dart more toward something labeled "vegetarian".

It's hard to eat vegetarian while at a fast food place. McDonalds pretty much has no options. Burger King has/had a veggie burger. You can always get fries at most fast food restaurants other than McDonalds. Other than salads and what I listed, fast food just doesn't have much to offer. It's hard to find healthy fast food. There is a few things you can get at Taco Bell but I don't go there so I don't know what to tell you about that.

just don't eat @ fast food resturants! even if they do have other vegetarian options, they still may be loaded w/ crap & preservatives, chemicals, & fat. no matter what u get @ some places, if it's the double cheeseburger w/ fries & a coke or the salad & soup, it still can have all of that, along w/ tons o' sugar! it may be cheap, but u get what u pay for! :) good luck!

20 years at being a vegetarian... I honestly stick to the iced tea and eat at home. Nothing quite as satisfying as a can of black beans on spinach. Makes me a cheap date, huh?
