The majority of BSOD's relate to hardware problems, things like cannot find boot device, meaning the hard drive has failed, or is failing, unable to find xxx device or driver etc.
Your error is most likely related to hardware problems, I suspect either the BIOS is corrupt, or the hard drive.
When it boots look for the BIOS set up key, most times its the delete key, hit this key and see if you can see any errors in the screens that follow, such as there is no hard drive or any other errors.
If this does not help, I would suggest get a Technician to check it out for you.

You should still be able to get into safe mode I think, just keep hitting the F8 key when the computer starts up just before the Windows XP screen. You could try selecting Last Known Good Config or Safe Mode.

while your computer is booting, press shift+f5. This will put it into safe mode. If it crashes still, you have a problem, and will need your disk. Or you can hit shift +f8 too and get command line where you can type chkdisk, to see if anything is corrupted.

blue screen on boot up (including safemode) means corrupted driver. could try booting up by the winxp cd and try "restore".

Note: mac is a PC with a linux type of OS. nothing special. a PC with a true linux is superior to a mac with os x. (remember same cpu)

NTLDR missing is an error on the boot sector, so what you can do is run the recovery console and type fixboot or else use chdsk /r

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
