How about starting with a TAE quote? "I have not failed 10,000 times, I have found 10,000 ways that did not work." And go on to explain some of the things he was famous and not-so-famous for. You can conclude it by showing some of the many many things we could not do, nor would we have if he had not kept trying even after so many failures.

Let there be light! Thomas Alva Edison changed the face of the entire world in many ways. Three ways he did this are: 1) 2) 3)

Next: ( 3 seperate paragraphs for each of three ways.)

End with: The lightbulb to Mr. Edisons life stopped shining on
( Date of death ). People will always remember and recognize him for the many great contributions he made regarding the way we live on our planet earth.

Now, you work at three ways he changed our world.

For starters I need to caution you all to listen to what your parents have to say. It will prove critical later in life. Had Edison not listened to his mom we would be bored out of our minds today even more than we say we are allready.
Edison was kicked out of school at age 7 after only 3 months in the classroom. His constant questioning led teachers to consider him retarded. He had to know how everything worked, why, how, etc. His mom then educated him at home.
Listening to music started with Edison and Lord knows where us young people today would be without our music, not to mention movies and the carbon transmitter that made Al. Graham Bell's telephone practical....For more info visit this site. Tons of stuff here. :http://www.biography.com/search/article.do?id=9284349....p.s. He did NOT invent the light bulb but his version burned longer and brighter thus setting the standards for todays bulbs.
