the reason we [aid this loan back is because we are not dependent on anyone, sub servent or otherwise...we went our own way for much of the war as the only democratic country that stood out against injustice and bigotry.
but we when we couldnt do it ourselves we paid our way, we are British and dont accept handouts.......instead of knocking our country be proud of our PRIDE

You are right - the UK paid back all loans decades ago.
America actually did very well out of WW2. In something called the Bretton Woods agreement, the US dollar became the world’s reserve currency, taking over from the UK. This gave the US huge trading power
Under George W Bush, America has seen its trade deficit go to an unprecedented high, with international debt rising to levels that will take generations to repay.
The UK actually lends billions to America now and is second only to China in lending to the US. So it's America that now owes Britain large sums.

England and America both stand for freedom. It was England holding out at great cost against Germany that gave the US the time it needed to gear up for war once we were involved. England was only country that paid back the loans the US gave to rebuild.
IT is a shame that England and the US are not the countries they were 50 years ago with the same resolve to fight injustice and oppression. The world could use another Churchill. Keep a stiff upper lip.

Barack Obama and his finished American government are actually making anti-British noises. they're telling the yank people who BP is a completely owned British employer, while it is not. shares in BP held via the united kingdom.gov have been offered off some time past interior the Eighteen Nineties. BP isn't even allowed to mentioned as itself BRITISH - the be conscious BRITISH has not something to do with B.P. - it somewhat is basically 2 initials which earlier stood for British Petroleum. BP has approximately 40,000 workers interior the u . s . and easily approximately 20,000 workers interior the united kingdom. it somewhat is a multi nationwide employer. BP can actual locate the money for to pay repayment and the cost of the freshen up - it somewhat is an exceedingly wealthy employer, no as a results of it somewhat is American directors. Anti-American feeling is beginning off to strengthen ever better right here in uk. it somewhat is already a tactics too risky for American servicemen and ladies right here in uk to project forth from their bases. This has been the case for countless years and it is going to bypass on getting worse. i will see a time coming while uk will not be an best pal of the u . s . and lots in the previous than human beings think of. Obama has a mid-term election bobbing up in November. as a fashion to divert public interest at homestead removed from his finished failure in place of work as President of the u . s ., he has desperate to kick his ultimate best pal - the united kingdom and blame the united kingdom for the oil spill interior the Gulf of Mexico. the employer answerable for the oil spill interior the Gulf of Mexico is the yank owned drilling employer. it somewhat is loss of take care of it somewhat is workers resulted of their deaths. The human beings have yet to awaken to Bhopal the various hundreds nay hundreds of Indians skipped over while it somewhat is basic that the human beings have been answerable for this chemical blast which killed and injured many hundreds. The Bhopal difficulty won't bypass away and now there is becoming call for from India that the human beings do something - it somewhat is now 25 years and staying power is wearing very skinny. Obama, awaken in the previous it explodes on your face.

Funny isn't it we pay for all the wars, even the ones started by the Yanks. Maybe we should be charging Washington for our help at this time. I don't remember Afghanistan or Iraq invading anyone recently, of course Kewait was invaded but instead of running to bagdad the Yanks as usual fouled the whole thing up.

I too am proud of your country and the headway you have made out of debt...I just wish our bullheaded country would try and learn the same lessons! How in the heck can you go from a surplus to a deficit in such a short period of time? What is even worse, how come people get shot down in the country for even bringing it up? Oh I am American if you could not already tell...LOL I say good on you!

I suspect that the support the USA is given now is based upon the finance they pumped in after the end of WWII. That would be wrong but why else do we act as lap dogs for them? They helped re-build large parts of Europe after the War as they had plenty of cash, this could be because they didn't spend that much on the War effort as they weren't involved for that long.
