anime is a beautiful form of art. it is the most common way that japanese animaters draw their art. anime is very different from regular american cartoons. the stories and plotlines are so much more deep, meaningfull, and sometimes very violent. that is why many of the anime shows are edited for certain content reasons. the american standards of cartoons are different then the japanese standards. all in all anime is just a japenese form of animation, with the most noticable trademark being detailed art work, and big glossy eyes.

Anime was born from a man osamu tezuka the father of manga.
Insipired by walt disney he creates astroboy in the 50's and animated series in the 60's
Many years later anime is a phenominal medium for animators .Often recognized by exagerated facial expressions, large eyes, and crazy hairstyles...Many creators such as voice actors are considered rock stars in Japan. Anime is for all types of people not just children..Romance, comedy, fantasy, martial arts, Horror and a variety of other genres have been created into anime...

Umm... that question isn't that coherent. Do you mean how do I describe anime (no need to capitalize)? *shrugs* As an extremely popular art movement that is slowly taking over the US and has taken over Japan/other Asian countries like Taiwan. I personally love it... but NOT any of that mainstream CN crap. Ugh... people who watch that sh*t are what I like to label "amateur anime fans." I have watched my fair share of anime (UNDERSTATEMENT) considering I've been watching since I was four years old!
However, I love both anime AND manga. Unlike the majority, though, I love YAOI anime and manga the most. I seldom ever buy any hetero manga (except for when I was younger). In my $2,000+ collection, about 80% is probably dedicated to yaoi. On my USB drive, about 20 GB is dedicated to yaoi... ONLY yaoi manga. Hehe.

Anime is a type of animation which portrays human-like characters........ They usually have big eyes and detailed hair-do.
Anime, originated from Japan, is usually targeted to all ages.
Different genres are available, such as: shonen (w/ fighting sequences), shojou (usually has a girl transforming), shonen-ai and yaoi ( guy to guy attraction), shojou-ai and yuri (girl to girl), hentai (sexual happenings are going on....for adult viewers), ecchi (fan-service), harem, and a bunch more others.
Anime usully has romance and humor themes to complete it's essence in a series. This is what also makes the viewers get hooked on it.
A lot of fangirls (i'm one of them...haha) / fanguys out there also watch it for the sake of seeing bishounens or bishojous (pretty guy, pretty girl).
