Nothing against her, but Beyonce seemed more like a backdrop in the movie. She didn't do a bad job. This is the best acting I have seen her do. I just have seen better acting and more lines as a lead actress. I don't know why she would be nominated for the lead and not supporting after watching the movie. I guess they didn't want to put Jennifer in her catagory (Jennifer's acting and singing would greatly slim Beyonce's chances of winning anything). Eddie was good. Once you see the movie all would know that Jennifer was the best actor by far. Nothing against the other actors and actresses. It is just the truth. Check out other ratings on yahoo. They all say the same thing about Jennifer.

I don't think so. Beyonce is not a good actress i.e Austin Powers movie. I think she just FINALLY REALIZED how to act in Dreamgirls (and plus it wasn't a far stretch! She's singing and acting like a singer. It's not rocket science) I think Eddie Murphy was WAY better than her and even Jennifer HUDSon for being her first movie she ROCKED! Beyonce is gettin way too much hype. Don't get me wrong, I love Beyonce, but her voice compared to Jennifer Hudson is in no way in the same category. Beyonce is an IMAGE!

Beyonce Knowles did an adequate job in the film -I didn't think she was outstanding in anyway.
Jennifer Hudson was great particularly because it's her first film. Of course, she's got the dramatic, sympathetic part, the best songs, etc. I expect her to be nominated for Best Supporting.
Eddie Murphy and Jamie Foxx both do good work in this film. I wouldn't be surprised to see Murphy receive a nomination. It would be as much for his body of work as for his work in this film. Hollywood likes to do that!
By the way, I've just returned from seeing this film!

I think that Jennifer Hudson should win the Oscar. Eddie Murphy might win one too. After all, they are in different categories.
