1. Rock, though I can deal with some rap.
2. Rock takes a certain amount of talent, unlike rap; I also like the energy surge.
3. Yes
4. The Beatles
5. Here Comes the Sun
Rap cannot overtake rock. Rock has been an established commercial force for over 50 years, and remains so to this day, even though the quality of most modern rock is (to be kind) questionable. It'll keep going. Rap will also last, but won't overtake rock by any means.

1.) I like rock over rap.

2.) It is what I grew up with and I enjoy it more. I have heard, what I consider, good rap. But, I have also heard rap that just doesn't keep me tuned to it..or it turns me off completely. The rap that turns me off completely relays lyrics that are demeaning to women, relationships, and uses trash language--consistently to where, if it were being used for shock value--it looses value, to me.

3.) Rap = Rap. I look at it as a venue in music...as to what I equate it to? I don't really give it a lot of my time.

4 & 5-- I have many fav bands and artists. And, my favorite song changes from season to season...depending on situations or moods in my life.

I don't believe rap will ever take over rock because they are completely different categories.
1. I like rap, rock, oldies, classical, swing/big band, and gospel. Everything but country and I even like an occasional country (very occasional).
2. I love music of all kinds
3. As afore said, country is the only thing that bugs me, although I believe some of the song content in rap is less than desirable.
4. I don't even know what my favorite color is- it all depends on my mood.
5. Same as 4.

Hell no! Rock will forever be here.
1. ROCK!
2. I love the sound, the lyrics, the depth and evocation of feelings rock has and can bring forth... much more profound than pseudo-music TALKING about being "playas," "gangstas," and "slapping the hos"... *rolls eyes*...
3. I don't call it cRAP for nothing
4. Nine Inch Nails... I bow down to the sheer genius of Trent Reznor. My second is Tool. Maynard Keenan is one of the most gifted lyricists ever born into existence. My third and fourth are Disturbed and Korn respectively. I like the entire spectrum of sounds EXCEPT for alt/punk... I cannot stand sh*t like Panic! At the Disco, Fallout Boy, and all that crap. NO to that.
5. Nine Inch Nails - Reptile (both from the album and live. It's actually heavier live)

I think rock has surrendered to the whiney little posers whom we call the "rock n' rollers" of today.

1 I like old school rap but mostly rock!

2 because it frees my soul. it's like art. without it i'd be dead. life would be so dull without it.

3 niether = crap ...does that really matter anyway?

4 too many to type!

5 right now i say blind melon - no rain

peace

Never liked rap... lost interest in rock around the mid 80s, learned to like jazz and new age, and never looked back. Boston's "Foreplay - Long Time" is timeless.
