He did kill approx. 148 people who were trying to have him assasinated, but by the Iraqi law, that is not illegal for a Dictator to do. This is what he is being put to death for, not for all of the other acts he committed. Osama is the one we should have been focusing on. Bush just wanted to look like a hero for once and instead it has cost many lives and heartbreak for everyone. Saddam had no Weapons of mass destruction and our forces new that before this began. Bush needed some excuse to invade their territory, especially becuase Saddam upset Bush Sr. years ago. That is what this entire mess is about, revenge for pissing off Bush Sr. Sad! Clinton would have made sure 911 did not happen. Bush ignored the warning. I blame this entire mess on 1 person and 1 person ONLY, Mr. George Bush. I wonder how he can sleep at night.

He invaded Kuwait for their oil and access to seaports. When he didn't get his own way, he ordered their oil wells to be set on fire. This was simply destruction for its own sake, very costly both financially and environmentally. Zoo animals were shot, killed and maimed just for the hell of it. The country was looted at the whim of his invading forces.

How many 'bad things' do you need? If athletes didn't win and bring glory to his empire, they were tortured. He started a family dynasty devoted to violence, corruption and exploitation of his own country's people. He started a war with Iran. He used poison gas on that front and also against the Kurds in the north.

After a fumbled assassination attempt, he ordered killed an entire village (of which a few had escaped).

Later, he tried to say that those people got a 'fair trial.' That culture knows nothing about democracy or fair trials.

Later, he had some more people killed - but the reason was unclear. So hundreds have died because of him.

He operated his regime like Hitler. Secret police and all. The secret police were sent to ferret out "opposition" by Saddam. And how did they do it? The same way Hitler's SS did. They raped wives in front of husbands, threw tiny babies in the air and shot them and tourtured entire families for "confessions." He gassed entire villages of his OWN people. Then buried people en masse in huge graves. He started trouble with his neighbors, just to start trouble. And he lived in luxury while his people lived in squalor.

The thing he did that I think is really wrong was to order about 400,000 kurds killed. He did that with the help and support of the United states.

I'm sure there were other things. I don't think he was a nice man, but the problem is that he couldn't have obtained and maintained power without help from the US. He was our puppet, so despite his not being nice, we supported him (the enemy of my enemy is my friend is the saying I believe).

You have to go to school to become ignorant. The man is a mass murderer. And that is probably one of his nicer qualities.

He procreated, passing on his sadistic genes.

Well, he's being hanged for killing 150 people who opposed his regime. Then there were the Kurds , I think he killed about 10k of them, kinda like Hitler killing the Jews. And the invasion of Quaite (spelling?). He tortured thousands. . ., stuff like that.
