hmm.. not really.. I've always been pretty good about having reasonable expectations about things.. usually when I get something I've been wanting, I'm neither disappointed or pleasantly surprised..

EDIT: oh yeah!! (I just read the answer above mine) I was looking forward to owning my own home for a long time, but now that I have one it seems like just one big hassle after another.. so I'd say my home is probably my biggest disappointment..

Yes. There was a Resident when I was a student nurse who I thought was the sexiest thing alive. When I moved to another city, there he was working at that hospital. We got together...he was a real dud. I'm almost sorry I found that out. The fantasies were so much better than the reality.

Yes. I desperately wanted a windsurfer when I was 10-12, after using one at summer camp. My dad bought me one when I was 14. But I had to rely on parents to drive me and the windsurfer to the beach, I was BARELY strong enough to set it all up myself, and I quickly learned that windsurfing by yourself is pretty darned boring, unless you're really good at it maybe.

Yes. All through my life I wanted to be 18 and then when I got there I was really disappointed. Life gets a lot harder when you become an adult.

yes, it happens to people (including myself) more often than you think. They did a study on a sample group measuring how much excitement the people felt. They were more excited at the thought or anticipation of the purchase than the actual purchase itself.

Sadly - more often than not. Lewis Black noted that its really the moment before obtaining what you want that's truly the best moment...

And it goes down hill from there...

Kinda weird really.

Yeah, I prefer waiting for it than actually getting it. Disappointment sucks!

For the longest time I wanted to hook up with my best friend, Christina, who was not only hot but seemed like my perfect match. We didn't have ANY chemistry when it came to making out. Very much a let down
