Obama knows how to focus on the issues and to make his case. He could return political discourse to the realm of ideas and debate. That alone could marginalize the reactionaries. Even if he doesn't win, his candidacy will be a positive influence on American politics.
Those who say he doesn't have a plan are uninformed.

I am a republican and i would love to see a Hillary/Obama ticket. But it ain't gonna happen. Hillery has never won anything First election unopposed the second was barely opposed.. She has never had any success at anything she has ever done. Obama was a mediocre state senator and is now an untested untried US senator. Senators almost never win a Presidential election. No black has ever come close. No woman either. Obama hides his middle name Hussein and he is sensitive about his big ears. His skin is too thin to take the heat of an election. Hillery and Obama will probably take each other out with leaks about improprieties. South Carolina native John Edwards is your best bet .

In all honesty, I don't think he's ready to run for President...I completely support him as the positive influence he can be on all people, but as far as true politics go, what has he done? I really think that some of the media outlets got it right when they called him a "Rock Star" politician.

If my great grandfather could only see this guy, he would be turning in his grave. I thought he was a black Muslim.
quote"His father, also named Barack (Swahili for "One who is blessed by God," and perhaps via Arabic and Semitic roots related to the Hebrew baruch, "blessed") Obama, left his rural Luo-speaking village and his Muslim father to become an "agnostic" and study economics abroad. His son was two when the elder Barack left the boy and his mother to return to Harvard University and then to Kenya, where he became a globe-traveling economist for the government."

I think that he is the best candidate so far out of what I have seen. He may lack political experience, yet I think experience is overrated in presidential politics. I think one good thing that came out of him not being in the senate too long was that he has no "flip flopping" senate record, like Hilary and McCain might have. Also, he has an intriguing novelty to him. He is very charismatic and he seems to have a great connection to the people with whom he speaks, yet he needs to formulate plans for the ideas he has. He needs to have a PLAN... he has great ideas, yet currently, no strategy behind them. He needs to craft his policies well in order to have a shot in this election, especially against Hilary, McCain and Guliani.

I won't vote for Obama for two reasons.
I'm not going to vote at all.
If I did vote, I can't imagine that a politician who is as liberal as Obama would appoint the right kind of people to the U.S. Supreme Court.

No way. It's really creepy how he became so popular all of a sudden without really accomplishing anything significant. Just like Bush.

There's something not quite right about him, I mean, aside from being a fundamental Christian fanatic.
