It is spelled "oxymoron."

It is a figure of speech that produces an incongruous, seemingly self-contradictory effect, as in “cruel kindness” or “to make haste slowly.”

Here are some often-used ones:
alone together
silent scream
living dead
same difference
taped live
tight slacks
pretty ugly
jumbo shrimp
plastic glasses
work party
virtual reality

An oximoron is a phrase that cancels itself out. Some are:

Jumbo shrimp (How can something be large and small at the same time?)
loners' club (they're LONERS and in a CLUB, which makes them not loners)

so basically, they are two word paradoxes.
